Theorycraft Games Unveils Supervive: A Hero Shooter Battle Royale from Industry Veterans
- 26-06-2024
Supervive, a free-to-play hero shooter with sandbox elements poised to reclaim the MOBA throne, has been announced.
Theorycraft Games, a studio comprised of veterans from AAA development, including League of Legends, Halo, Destiny, Overwatch, and Valorant, has unveiled its first major project. This project is a free-to-play, squad-based, hero-centric competitive battle royale named Supervive.
Players will form four squads and select from one of 15 Storm Hunters, each featuring unique abilities. The game involves exploring an expansive and ever-changing map in search of competing teams to be the last squad remaining. This task is complicated by other players, various enemies and obstacles scattered across the large map, and a dangerous cloud continuously shrinks the playing area.
Theorycraft was established in December 2020 by a founding team that includes Joe Tung, Mike Tipul, Michael Evans, and Areeb Pirani, all former studio leaders at Riot Games, Bungie, and Blizzard Entertainment. Together, they have led the creation of renowned video games like League of Legends, Halo, Destiny, Overwatch, and Valorant.
Joe Tung, Theorycraft CEO, said they departed from the security of their jobs at AAA studios to make a significant bet on themselves. They aimed to create the most profound games in the world and to develop them in a novel way: openly and collaboratively with real players from the very beginning. He expressed immense pride in reaching this milestone and enthusiastically introduced Supervive, expressing gratitude to the existing community and eager anticipation to welcome new players.
In addition to the announcement, Theorycraft revealed a trailer for the game and announced an open beta set for late 2024 to test the game.
