If you're a fan of the experience of player-versus-player combat, Lords of The Fallen offers an interesting opportunity for invasions, an adrenaline-inducing part of the gameplay where you get a chance to test your skills against other lampbearers. In this guide, you will learn all about invading other players in Lords of The Fallen and leveraging the advantages it can offer. Let's delve right in.

Unlocking the Vestige Checkpoint

Unlocking the Vestige Checkpoint

Before you can invade other lampbearers, you need to conquer the first hurdle, which is unlocking the Vestige checkpoint. The initial Vestige is spotted in the tutorial zone, known as The Abandoned Redcopse, and this happens right before you encounter the formidable Holy Bulwark Otto boss. When you take a rest at the Vestige, you're presented with a variety of options. From these, select 'Multiplayer' and then navigate to 'Slaughter lampbearer' to initiate matchmaking.

Understanding the Matching System

Here's a crucial point to note: You can't just invade other lampbearers willy-nilly. The matchmaking system only allows you to invade those with an equivalent or lower level than yours. Higher-level lampbearers are off-limits, and so are undiscovered areas. Thus, you need to be strategic and plan your invasions cleverly to reap maximum rewards.

Navigating the Invasion and Rewards

Once the invasion process is successful and you triumph over the other lampbearer, you are rewarded with the unique item known as Severed Hands. This item bears a resemblance to the 'Plucked Eyeball,' which is obtained after you have successfully avenged a fellow lampbearer.

How to Prevent Invasions

How to Prevent Invasions

While invasion might be a thrilling aspect of the game for some, it may not be every player's cup of tea. If you prefer to prevent invasions, you can purchase an item known as the Mirror of Protection from in-game merchants. This item shields you from the Crimson Ritual, thus preventing your world from being invaded for a certain duration. You can find this item at various merchants, including Exacter Dunmire, Stomund, Captain of the Fidelis, Molhu, and Thehk-Ihir.

What to Do with the Severed Hands

Upon winning an invasion, the Severed Hands you acquire can be donated to the Shrine of Adyr. This shrine is located near the Vestige of Betrayed Eliard in Fitzroy's Gorge. You can exchange these Severed Hands for various items depending on the amount of hands you have collected. These items range from the 'Charred Finger' at 10 Severed Hands to 'Knight Of Adyr Armour' at 500 Severed Hands. Each accumulation of Severed Hands enables you to unlock more tiers, equating to more items.

Remember, the journey to becoming the ultimate lampbearer in Lords of The Fallen requires both strategy and combat skills. Familiarize yourself with these tips, and nothing can stop you from ruling the game. Happy gaming!
