Fortnite Winterfest 2022: What Should Players Be Excited For?

The developers of Fortnite like to entertain players with different holiday-themed events. Fortnitemares 2022 started on October 18th, but now we are also getting some information about the upcoming Winterfest 2022. The Fortnite team is still careful about revealing too many secrets about the event, so the information available to players is quite limited.
Last year, players had access to an epic winter event, so we don’t expect anything less from the developers this year. Here’s the information currently available about Winterfest 2022.

When Will This Event Start?

At the moment, the developers of the game haven’t provided a specific date. Last year, this event started on December 16th, and it went on right up to January 6th of 2022. As for this year’s event, there has been some information about it starting on December 4th, 2022. Even if the date will be pushed forward a bit, the event is likely to start in the first part of December.

Which Gift Will Be Offered to Players of the Game?

The most exciting part about Winterfest is getting some interesting gifts. Such presents might come in the form of cosmetics and free skins for the characters. During previous years, players had to go to a shack located in the lobby of the game where they got access to different gifts every day of the event.

There will likely be skins inspired by the winter theme, as the event wouldn’t be complete without them. In 2021, Epic Games provided gifts to players for 14 days without any breaks, so there is no reason to doubt the generosity of the gaming studio this year. Currently, there is information on 10 different winter skins that we’ll get to see this year, including Glimmer, Lt. Evergreen, Snowbell, etc. Hopefully, we will see more different leaks of such gifts by the end of November.

What About the Map?

There is no doubt that the island of Fortnite will be all decked out and ready for Christmas. Players will probably see the map in snow, as there is nothing else that brings the winter spirit to the next level. Since there is no connection between the winter and the actual storyline of Season 5, all this snow will likely melt away once the event is over.
As for the most interesting locations on the map, Crackshot’s Cabin is the place to be.

Characters and Items in the Event

As for the characters, a lot of information is still missing, but there have been some confirmations from the developers. Firstly, we already know that Sneaky Snowman and Chiller Grenades will make it back to Fortnite. It is almost impossible to imagine Winterfest without them, so it’s nice to hear about their comeback.
When it comes to vehicles, the event will potentially add Quadcrasher, which definitely contributes to the holiday mood. Also, the players might see the Winterfest truck that brought quite a lot of joy to players with its presents.

Which Quests and Challenges Should Players Look Forward To?

Challenges are an integral part of any Fortnite event. We already know that players will get access to various winter rewards and also some extra XP depending on the Battle Pass. The majority of quests will be focused on the main playlist modes, but there can be some that appear on creative maps.

Fortnite Winterfest 2022 might have some elements that relate directly to the storyline of the game, but it should mostly be viewed as a separate entity.
