Custom Challenges and Enhanced Gameplay in the New Oblivion Remastered Update

An updated version of the patch brings an array of fixes and fresh settings for adjusting game difficulty to enhance your experience with the classic adventure.

The recently released update for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered introduces numerous improvements with plenty of adjustments and added challenges. Although the patch is not available across every platform yet, players can try it out via Steam in its beta release, with all details now shared by Bethesda.

The update focuses on enhancing difficulty options. Players have gained the ability to tweak both player and enemy combat damage, offering more control over how challenging encounters can be set. The new difficulty settings include:

  • Novice
  • Apprentice
  • Adept
  • Journeyman
  • Expert
  • Master

Several gameplay areas have also seen performance improvements, such as in Deepscorn Hollow, Black Rock Caverns, and Bravil Castle. Additionally, minor gameplay issues have been adjusted including problems with character appendages sticking in armor and irregular scaling of character heights.

For those interested in testing the update via the Steam beta, simply open your library, choose Experience The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered by navigating to properties, select Betas, and choose the beta option for this update. Once selected, the new build will be automatically downloaded.

Now accessible on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the game beckons players to… revisit the world of Oblivion with these new enhancements and performance boosts.
