As the gaming landscape evolves, enthusiasts are eager to grasp what lies ahead for their favorite titles. For fans of Phasmophobia, exciting developments are on the horizon for 2025, promising fresh maps, engaging seasonal events, and transformative updates that will enhance the game's ghost-hunting experience.

Looking ahead to February, Kinetic Games has outlined an ambitious plan for the year. The roadmap reveals a series of significant additions aimed at enriching gameplay. The highlight of this initiative is the upcoming update named Chronicle, which is set to be the first substantial update introduced this year. This update aims to revamp the journal system, refining how players gather and document evidence within the game.

Chronicle will replace the existing Photos tab with a comprehensive Media section divided into three categories: Photos, Videos, and Sound Recordings. This new organization will streamline the process of identifying the type of supernatural entity players are currently pursuing. Furthermore, it will enable a more structured approach to documenting experiences and findings.

In addition to this overhaul, Chronicle will introduce unique captures throughout gameplay, which will be marked specifically for recognition. This feature will incentivize players by offering additional experience points and currency upon the completion of missions where these captures were observed. Alongside this, a Sound Recorder device will be included to capture eerie audio, further aiding in identifying the entity being hunted.

The developments for 2025 don’t stop there. A second major update is anticipated, which will enhance the customization options for players' character designs. Additionally, three new maps are on the way: Bleasdale Farmhouse, Grafton Farmhouse, and a new smaller map. Seasonal events are also part of the package, with themed happenings scheduled for Easter, Halloween, and the festive season.

But there's more than just the present year to look forward to. The roadmap has hinted at exciting prospects for 2026, including revamps of house maps, the introduction of additional landscapes, and a mysterious "Horror 2.0," which adds an element of suspense as players ponder its possibilities.

With the full roadmap outlined, it's worth noting that Phasmophobia's success has been remarkable. The game has surpassed the two million mark in sales already units on consoles, surpassing an impressive total of 22 million units sold across every platform since its launch. This trajectory suggests a thriving community eager for more ghost-hunting adventures.
