Google has started rolling out its AI-based 'Help Me Write' feature to users who have enrolled in the Workspace Labs program on Android and iOS devices. Previously, the feature was only available for desktop users as part of Workspace Labs. The new tool aims to enhance writing in Gmail and Google Docs by helping users compose drafts based on their prompts.
According to a 9to5Google report, the 'Help Me Write' feature is now available for testing on Gmail for Android and iOS. The AI-powered tool allows users to quickly compose emails with minimal effort by generating content based on their prompts. It can be accessed by tapping the compose button in Gmail and selecting the 'Help Me Write' option located at the bottom right side of the screen.
To use the feature, users need to enter a prompt like "A thank you letter for my job interview" or "A Job Application." Subsequently, the AI will create a draft of an email that users have the option to modify or adjust prior to dispatching it. Additionally, users can send feedback about the generated text or create a new version by tapping "Recreate." Google is additionally preparing to introduce the 'Help Me Write' functionality to Google Docs, though the specific timeline for its release has not been disclosed.
At the Google I/O 2023 event, the company also unveiled new AI-powered features for Google Photos, including the upcoming Magic Editor tool. The Magic Editor is designed to add missing details in images where objects are partially visible and will be released later in 2023. Moreover, the tool will provide users with the capability to reposition subjects within a photo after it has been taken.
In summary, Google is expanding its AI-based writing enhancement tool, 'Help Me Write,' to Android and iOS users enrolled in the Workspace Labs program. The feature will assist users in drafting emails quickly and easily while also allowing them to give feedback on the generated content. With more AI-powered tools like the Magic Editor coming to Google Photos, it is evident that Google is committed to enhancing its services with artificial intelligence.
