Corsair has recently revealed that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Fanatec, a prominent name in the sim racing sector. This agreement was finalized on September 16, with the transition to Corsair's ownership expected to be completed within a week. This move marks the acquisition of the hardware brand, which includes all its associated teams, in a transaction involving an asset purchase from Endor AG.

Fanatec, headquartered in Landshut, Germany, stands out as one of the foremost manufacturers of specialized sim racing hardware. The brand excels in producing a variety of products such as steering wheels, wheelbases, pedals, shifters, and a wide range of accessories compatible with PlayStation, Xbox, and PC racing simulators. Corsair first unveiled its intentions to buy the German company in May, and it's noteworthy that Endor has disclosed that Fanatec's product sales reached around $110 million for the year 2023. Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair, expressed his excitement regarding the acquisition in a press release from Business Wire.

He shared that the company has admired Fanatec for many years and feels honored to be selected as the new home for its products. Paul emphasized that by utilizing Corsair's extensive supply chain and logistics capabilities, they aim to lower operational costs, enhance customer service experiences, increase sales opportunities, and assist the brand in achieving profitability. Over the past five years, Fanatec has experienced remarkable growth, driven by a rising interest in racing and motorsports within the gaming community. Industry analysts estimate that the market for Sim Racing components has now reached $1 billion, with an anticipated growth rate of 20 percent each year, according to Business Wire.

Paul further noted that the company plans to sustain its core operations in Landshut while also enhancing its status as a leading product development center for Sim Racing. With a rich legacy spanning over two decades, Fanatec is celebrated as both a pioneer and a cornerstone for racing fans worldwide. Corsair looks forward to building upon this legacy, leveraging its history of product innovation and customer service excellence.
