Bethesda Lands on GeForce Now– Another Step in Nvidia's Cloud Gaming Journey
- 04-08-2023
GeForce Now, Nvidia's cloud gaming platform, has broadened its horizons, announcing the addition of Bethesda games to its streaming lineup. These additions, the first Bethesda titles up for streaming on GeForce Now, are the outcome of a ten-year agreement between Nvidia and Microsoft, Bethesda's parent company. This move comes in the backdrop of Microsoft's bid to secure regulatory approval for its impending Activision Blizzard acquisition.
Microsoft acknowledging Nvidia’s entrenched position in the gaming sphere, played a crucial role in the deal. The understanding will usher Xbox PC games onto the GeForce Now platform. This strategic decision is designed to soothe regulatory authorities, making the Activision Blizzard acquisition more palatable. It demonstrates Microsoft's flexibility and willingness to cooperate with industry competitors.
The integration of Bethesda titles into GeForce Now closely follows the platform’s launch of its new Ultimate tier in January. This top-tier service lets subscribed players dive into games powered by remotely-operated "SuperPOD" servers equipped with RTX 4080-class graphics cards. The Ultimate tier elevates the gaming dynamics, offering an amplified gaming experience.
GeForce Now Ultimate ups the ante with its ability to stream games at native 4K resolution at dizzying speeds of up to 120 frames per second. Nvidia's Reflex feature further allows an impressive 240fps option. It also obviates the need for newly purchased cards for your setup by offering access to features like ray tracing and Nvidia's DLSS 3 AI technology.
August, with a whopping 41 titles in the pipeline for launch this month. GeForce Now subscribers take note, however; while these games might be accessible via the platform, they must first be bought before you can stream them on Nvidia's service.
The week's impressive lineup consists of a host of highly-awaited games. It takes off with the launch of F1 Manager 2023 and Bloons TD 6 on the last day of July and the first day of August, respectively. Other games to hit the platform this week include Bloons TD Battles 2, Brick Rigs, Demonologist, Empires of the Undergrowth, Stardeus, The Talos Principle, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, and Yet Another Zombie Survivors.
But the gaming delights don't conclude there. The rest of August looks equally exciting for GeForce Now gamers. Games such as WrestleQuest, I Am Future, Atlas Fallen, and Sengoku Dynasty are lined up for release in the initial days of August, followed by a slew of other games set to launch in the upcoming weeks. Mid-August will see the deployment of The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, Gord, Book of Hours, and Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, among others.
The gaming frenzy further amplifies during the latter half of the month. GeForce Now subscribers can look forward to Jumplight Odyssey, Blasphemous 2, Ride 5, and Sea of Stars alongside others, jolting the final fortnight of August. As the month culminates, titles like Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, Deceit 2, Superhot, Wreckfest, and Xenonauts 2 crash their way into the platform, marking a spectacular end to an event-filled month. And of course, in between the arrivals of these big names, we can also anticipate the debut of other interesting games, including Lego Brawls, Regiments, Session, Smalland: Survive the Wilds, Terra Invicta, and Wall World, promising a seemingly endless array of gaming choices for subscribers.
To top it all, the recent deployment of SuperPOD servers across several North American and European locations marks a significant boost to Nvidia’s GeForce Now Ultimate. Covering areas such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, and more, Nvidia is well on its way to fashioning a comprehensive cloud gaming network. In conclusion, Nvidia’s foray into cloud gaming with Bethesda titles on GeForce Now epitomizes a promising leap forward in the landscape of cloud-based gaming.
